In this past Wednesday's Oswego Yacht Club Race Series the J/24 fleet again claims the top three finishes overall. The race featured fifteen to eighteen knot winds that shifted over forty degrees during the race. As the wind shifted, boats on the right side of the course made huge gains on the boats to the left. Skippers and crews were challenged by the high winds and large waves. The Race committee set a W4 windward leeward course for the twenty-one competitors. In first was Charlie Krylo sailing "Seaweed", followed by Tom Doran's "Oz" and in third was Russ Cook's "Significant Other". The top three Division One boats were separated by less than a minute on corrected time and took the next two overall places with George Nesbitt sailing "Luna Nova" to first, Dan Mather was second sailing "Crusader" and Fran Enright was third on "Sail A'Vie". In Division Two Mike Sorrel sailed "Colorme" to a first place finish with Dick White second on "Lil Chickadee" and in third was Al Williams sailing "Alligator". "Neige D'Ete" sailed by Dick Taylor was the only finisher in the Non Spinnaker fleet.

The race was held in two to six knots of wind and confused choppy seas. The Race committee set a W5 windward leeward course for the twenty competitors but shortened it to two legs. In first was Charlie Krylo sailing sailing "Seaweed", followed by John Heretyk on "Shockwave" and third was Tom Doran's "Oz" . In Division 1 fleet newcomer Mike McCormick sailed his J/29 "Nemisis" to a first place finish beating Dave Raham's J/29 "Dream On" by seven seconds, in third was Dan Mather sailing "Crusader".
